New Assassin's Age
Time goes by, and year after year a new game for the Assassin’s Creed series seems to be under development. Ubisoft has been working on the next installment of the saga, this time skipping some years to reach the Victorian Age in the United Kingdom. This time we will play as Jacob and Evie Fry, young twin Assassins, and members of a gang that tries to take over the London city, using the local gangs for the Creed’s purposes. Assassin's Creed Syndicate is expected to be released the next October 23rd on PS4 and Xbox One, with a later edition for PC.
You will play as Assassins treated like criminals in the slums of the city
The game will cover the scene of London back in 1868, showing the social situation during the last part of the Second Industrial Revolution that changed the way society was. Living the way of the Victorian Age gives you another perspective of history, especially when you will play as Assassins treated like criminals in the slums of the city. Since it will put to the scene some historical characters, such as Charles Darwin and Charles Dickens, it wouldn’t be odd if the game rescue some previous events from the Luddites trying to destroy factories all over London.
The new Industrial way of life
In Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, we will find the Templars ruling the nation alongside with the monarchy, having the advantage of new technology such as the rope launcher, a practical hook that will let us climbing buildings. Expanding the freedom of the saga, just like the previous AC game Black Flag, in this new release there are added some territorial mechanics conquering areas of London fighting against other rival gangs.
The developers have promised a more dynamic combat system, focusing on the different gang wars in which you will count with your own squad. This time, the game won’t count with a multiplayer mode, giving the importance to the single player campaign, a classic of the series. During Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, you will be able to control both characters, Jacob and Evie, whenever you consider. Both characters have their own skill tree and different kinds of abilities, being Jacob the one with more combat skills and Evie the one more skilled for stealth missions.
The graphical aspect shown in the Pre-Alpha footage is similar to what we saw in the previous title Assassin’s Creed Unity. However, there is plenty time to improve this section, increasing the details of the London city, which looks incredibly alive. We will have more information in the following E3 so stay tuned.
